The people of Iran from all walks of life, especially workers relying on transport to make a living, must wait hours in line for just a few liters of fuel, only to often find empty pumps and closed stations. Yet, there are no shortages or lines for the IRGC and repressive forces. Now, the regime’s president brazenly and insidiously lays the groundwork to hike fuel prices to 10,000 or even 100,000 tomans—doubling the unbearable pressure on the masses. In a country blessed with some of the world’s largest oil and gas reserves, a regime charging full-throttle toward a nuclear bomb cannot even supply basic fuel for its own people. This regime’s sole goal is preserving its disgraceful rule. The safety, livelihood, and health of the Iranian people mean absolutely nothing to it.
