@mrhowardedu A1: I no longer put a student in the hallway as a disciplinary measure. This removed the student from the learning in the classroom and did not address the issue of what caused the behavior. I now try talking with the student to find out the cause. #RHMSWINCHAT #DISCIPLINEWIN
@mrhowardedu A3: I always ask my students how they are doing. If I notice one acting different than usual I try to get them alone and talking about what’s going on. I do want to start doing online check-ins with all of my students as a way to keep up with them. #RHMSWINCHAT #DISCIPLINEWIN
@mrhowardedu Tricky to do at middle school. You need to know your students. I tell my kids they can talk with me and I mean that but sometimes you have to initiate the conversation. Another kid may tell you. It’s a delicate balance. #rhmswinchat
