@GretchenInOK My dad died in 2009 at age 92. He was a huge #Rush fan. I remember when I heard Rush for the first time. It was on WFLA 970AM (Tampa). I don't recall exactly when it was. But it was shortly after he went nationwide. 1989, I believe. #RIPRush
@nicksortor Beautiful tribute from President Trump to Rush Limbaugh on the 5th anniversary of his passing. Rush was a true patriot and voice for conservatism—there will never be another like him. We miss you, Rush. 🇺🇸❤️ #RIPRush #MAGA
@USA_Anne711 Almost one month later...Inauguration Day, 2021...
Rush spent the final five minutes of his program "talking me up" for a job...His endorsement had my phone blowing up!!! While I didn't get the gig, I got something
better...His "seal of approval!"
#RIPRush
@dandinohill Rush called those news outlets the Drive-by media. I missed every week day on the 📻 radio. @RushLimbaughEIB ❤️😇🙏 #RIPRush
@LeilaniDowding @MarkSteynOnline @danwootton I know you knew Steyn and were on a few times, but didn't know what happened to him since he was here in the states, sometimes on FNC, or he used to fill in for Rush Limbaugh back in the day! #RIPRush Did they pay you for your appearances?
@DrunkRepub The DR is always right!
Driving to the polls in November, this came on and I got a sudden feeling that things will be OK. #RIPRush

WHY I BELIEVE THE RIGHT WILL CONTINUE TO WIN
If you’re old like me, then you probably remember conservative talk radio in the ‘90s and early aughts.
Traditional media such as television and newspapers had been completely conquered by the American left, all but omitting the right from critical national debates.
Millions of non-brainwashed citizens sought informational refuge elsewhere, namely conservative talk radio.
Rush Limbaugh, Neal Boortz, Michael Savage. I could go on and on. These scrappy underdogs managed to wage a successful guerrilla war against the exponentially more powerful mainstream media for years, and as a result ensured conservatism’s survival.
Their success infuriated the left, of course, who tried like hell to compete with, and even conquer, conservatives in the talk radio arena.
But try as they might they simply couldn’t; for whatever reason, they were terrible at it.
And so the right clung to life from the shadowy recesses of a dying medium, landing blows where they could but always retreating to fight another day.
And now that day has come. For it is left who is finally on the defensive.
Instead of fighting from the shadows, the right has managed to commandeer the largest news source in the world. I’m speaking, of course, about this very platform.
After years of being censored and banned on Twitter, and social media in general, conservatives now dominate political discourse across the new media landscape.
The reason is simple: the left takes everything, especially itself, too seriously.
Public opinion is no longer swayed via opinion pages or lengthy essays. Rather, it is increasingly won in the form of pithy takes and witty memes (If you doubt my thesis, consider that once Elon bought Twitter and leveled the social media playing field right-wing shitposters helped carry Trump to the Oval Office in a landslide).
Humor is a lethal weapon in today’s marketplace of ideas, and the conceited, long-winded left is all but defenseless.
They were never particularly personable to begin with, but they’ve become downright intolerable as their prestige is stripped away like old paint.
Their reliance on expertise has also become a handicap in the post-COVID era as know-it-all academics have repeatedly missed the mark on countless issues.
Common sense now rules the roost, and conservatives have always correctly claimed that mantle.
Now it’s the left fighting from the shadows of Mastodon and Bluesky, or clinging to dying media; liberal Boomers are the only thing keeping newspapers and late-night talk shows alive.
And as they die out, so too will the old world. And should the left fail to learn to laugh, particularly at themselves, it’s difficult to see how they survive.
Unless, of course, the right just completely f***s up this golden opportunity.

@catturd2 May God rest his Soul but @RushLimbaughEIB said this would happen. He said "Democrats will STOP having elections once they realize they can no longer win fair and square!" #RipRush, you are dearly missed!
That's why he was the best. #RIPRush
Fun fact for those who care: Rush began to hone his broadcasting skills as a music DJ. One reason he was continually fired is that he refused merely to play music. He pushed the envelope and interjected commentary against the directives of management. He was scary talented.
Rush saw the wokerati before it even had a name. He believed in America and called it like he saw it—Dan’s Bakesale in Colorado proved that! A legend before his time. 🇺🇸🔥 #RIPRush #MAGA #Zelena #hollaifyouhearme
Four years ago today, the legendary Rush Limbaugh went to be with the Lord.
Here's a flashback to 2020, when President Trump surprised him with the Presidential Medal of Freedom during the State of the Union.
Rest in Peace, Rush.
@OfficialRushUSA Totally agree with the unending influence Rush had on his audience and, for his unique insights and mentoring, I will forever be grateful ... #DittoHeadForever #RIPRush
@leslibless Rush’s voice would have given me strength especially over the past four years. I’ve missed him like crazy. I’ve thought of him often. #RIPRush ❤️😢
Too bad @RushLimbaughEIB is passed, I would have loved to see the talking heads explode when @realDonaldTrump named him press secretary, even if its only for a few days. #RIPRush
In honor of El Rushbo, who would have been absolutely ecstatic about the outcome of this election.

@RealAlexJones @0oWatches Rush was right 99.1% of the time. So I'll take the 97% as we no longer have the man with talent on loan from God.
