Get ready, Stargate fans!
@DrDJackson Jac has little experience, her attempts at action suck, her storytelling is a hot mess. Suddenly there is going to be a miracle? No it will be a disaster just like every other IP lately. I will not be watching, Amazon wants to bury the gate I will not be assisting. #RIPStargate
@cosmicbooknews Jac has little experience, especially in action, and a high failure rate. Everything starts of ok, but decends into red hot mess. Action is awful and can’t stick the landing. Lets just hope this dies before it gets to filming. #RIPstargate
#RIPStargate I’m so disappointed with Amazon.
Amazon finally announced a new Stargate series.
A lot of fans want no part of it.
Within an hour of the Jac Schaeffer news, replies filled up with #RIPStargate, #NotMyStargate, and threats to cancel Prime.
The reason is simple.
Fans spent the entire summer fighting to bring back Martin Gero’s canceled Stargate series.
That campaign passed 120,000 petition signatures.
Instead, Amazon started over with the creator of WandaVision.
“We did not #SaveStargate,” one fan wrote. “#RIPStargate.”
Nerdrotic had an even shorter reaction:
“DOA.”
Others are hammering Amazon for ignoring the existing fanbase after canceling Gero’s version over concerns it wouldn’t appeal broadly enough.
One fan summed up the problem:
Amazon may now have a new Stargate series in development while #SaveStargate is still going strong.
That could get awkward fast.

@JiltedValkyrie I hate Amazon! There will be no way this woman will be good or do it justice. The only way I want Stargate is with any of the original writers and producers. Martin, Joseph, and all the others deseve better. #ripstargate
so basically, @AmazonMGMStudio wants to change the dna of stargate because they want to replace the og fandom with a certain type of fans!
#NotMyStargate

@cosmicbooknews Fuck @AmazonMGMStudio #SaveStargate #RIPStarGate No Gero no Stargate! This woman RUINS everything she touches! IDC if she brings in Gay Characters or Women led roles... But she literally ruins EVERYTHING she touches. StarGate at this point is dead to most of us.
It's dead. Fucking dead. RIP Stargate. We loved you well. #ripstargate
Breaking News... STARGATE Fans are SLAPPED in the FACE again! Amazon Chooses AGATHA ALL ALONG Showrunner to create new STARGATE Series.
Yes, It's Real!
What does This Mean...
According to Variety, Jac Shaeffer, who is responsible for WANDA VISION, AGATHA ALL ALONG as well as a co-writer on BLACK WIDOW as well as CAPTAIN MARVEL, has been given the reigns to create a new STARGATE TV show after rebuffing Martin Gero, Brad Wright and Joe Mallozzi... you know, the guys who CREATED ORIGINAL STARGATE.
So this hire tells you everything you want to know...
- Original Stargate Canon... GONE
- New series female and LGBTQ focused... LIKELY
- Stories that long-time fans will likely hate... MOST CERTAINLY
I'M HAPPY TO BE PROVEN WRONG, and like all shows it will be judged fairly when it comes out, but this showrunner choice has all the makings of a disaster out of the gate. Old IPs with tons of fans will require that you honor what came before. See Star Trek and Star Wars for an example.
Why do you fire OG Stargate Creators to hire a new person who knows nothing about Stargate? Because you don't want your show to be associated with the old show.
What you can expect is the 47 year old Shaeffer to lean on a female centered cast and story which is the basis of every single story she has written or show she has produced.
Schaeffer was hired by Amazon in February of this year only a few months prior to canceling Martin Gero's Stargate. Perhaps Amazon's silence was that this was their plan all along, but they knew the blow back they would receive and delayed as long as possible?
Studios are obsessed with award winning showrunners and Schaeffer has been award several for her work on Agatha All Along and Wanda Vision to include Outstanding New TV Series by GLAAD Media, Best LGBTQ TV Show and the Saturn Award for best Superhero television show for both Agatha and Wanda.
Perhaps STARGATE will be made for someone, but it 100% won't be for long-time fans who've waited years for it to come back.
This is not what #SaveStargate was about...
@GeeksGamersCom I mean there's not much more Amazon could do to make it clear that they don't give a 💩 about the fans! Months of #SaveStargate without a word and now this.
A huge FU to the fans!
Another IP bites the dust!
The stargate we all knew and loved is dead!
#RIPStargate!
@PopcastGuys Very sad news! The stargate we all knew and loved is dead!

IS everyone excited for the new series?! #stargate #savestargate #ripstargate #stargateacademey #screwamazon @PrimeVideo
@StoneLoki1 It's the streaming service way. Buy cultural IP and rebrand it with leftist ideology and views. Add to the catalog and keep going. Don’t ask questions as long as the rest of the businesses which have nothing to do with streaming are making money. Keep going.
