We are coming to a close with this month's #RadDeathWatch event, but we aren't going to just leave you hanging on the Death Tape.
We've saved a 'happy place' for last.
Meet Deanna Wilkinson - LGBT Temple member and the voice of the Jonestown Electric.

The moderator has made an adjustment to the transcript as it has been agreed since this transcript was taken that these are the correct words.
Unfortunately, she or the recording were cut off before she could finish.
What are your thoughts/feelings on her remarks?
#RadDeathWatch

What do you think about the messages being sent to the crowd in the hi-lighted sections below? How are they related to or encouraging death among the members?
What do you make of the crowd's response to this?
#RadDeathWatch

Another section of transcript which is not included in this recording is hi-lighted below. This section is included in other recordings but the tape was clearly cut off before this woman spoke.
What do you make of this and the remark that "Somebody ought to live"?

We are going to focus on this 15 minute chunk of audio a lot today as it is often highly edited when presented to the public. But there is much more that will be addressed as well.

Christine Miller's fight for the children to live and for everyone else to choose when and how they die begins at 3:29 and runs clear to 17:18.
That's about 15 minutes of what is known to be around a 35-45 minute recording.

We are going to get started on our last day of #RadDeathWatch very soon. Just had a bit of a delay when a runaway pup showed up this morning. But, he has been picked up by his owner and I just gotta start another pot of coffee.
See y'all soon!
In the Death Tape, Jones tells the people that they are not "committing suicide; it's a revolutionary act."
He reiterates this phrase again and again, to the point that it is the very last line of the recording.
How do you think the people interpreted this phrase?
#RadDeathWatch

At 2:50 of this recording, Jones says they should, " take the potion like they used to take in ancient Greece".
What cultures or events exist in human history which practiced "mass" death/suicide?
#RadDeathWatch
The Death Tape begins with Jones saying, "How very much I have loved you."
Within seconds you will hear an example of "ghostly audio" from a previous recording in the "background".
What kind of feelings and thoughts do you get whenever this "ghostly audio" appears?
#RadDeathWatch
Things to keep in mind about what you will hear in the Death Tape:
1) The tape stops and starts randomly, which has led to speculation about its authenticity. However, it is known that Jones would often edit his recordings "on the fly".

The last person we must share with you before we discuss the "Death Tape" is Christine Miller.
Christine has been featured in every #RadDeathWatch of this month as it is impossible to discuss the final hours of Jonestown without including Christine Miller.

The 2018 documentary is also our first introduction to survivor Leslie Wagner Wilson. 21 year old Leslie escaped into the jungle with her 3 year old son and others during the Congressional delegation's visit and trekked over 30 miles to the nearest town.

This is the closing weekend for February's #RadDeathWatch event!
Join us today and tomorrow for a packed weekend of discussion about:
Temple members
The 2018 documentary "Truth and Lies - Jonestown: Paradise Lost" (https://t.co/HMmDideXlJ)
The "Death Tape"
and more!

In the 2018 film, Tim Carter says that there were armed guards all around and "no way out. They could die by bullet, or arrow, or die by drinking poison."
Why do you think this perspective about the decisions made in the final hours of Jonestown is often omitted?
#RadDeathWatch
Do you have a question about Jonestown or the Peoples Temple which you feel may be too controversial or "dumb" to ask?
Email it to [email protected].
We will post your question for discussion and you will remain anonymous!

It is very easy to demonize Annie Moore and other members of Jim's inner circle of mostly white women who, without a doubt, hold just as much accountability for these deaths.
But, why do you think these women and their roles are only now starting to get attention?
#RadDeathWatch

Parts of a letter, written in the final hours of Jonestown, are read throughout the 2018 film. It is credited as 'Anonymous' in the film, but credited to Annie Moore on The Peoples Temple Flickr account, which is open for the public.

Let's kick today off with a 'lite' topic:
What are your opinions of the 2018 and 2007 documentaries?
What did you like and/or not like about them?
Have you learned anything new from them?
Do they make you want to learn even more about this event?
