Took some time today to decompress and work on some fun #RavenR tools, focusing on the model discretization file (RVH file). An overview of some of the few new functions: 1/5 #rstats @RavenHydro @heronhydrologic

#RavenR is providing convenience tools to generate input files and post-process outputs of @RavenHydro using #rstats. More than 5000 downloads already. Way to go Rob and team!! 🎉

The #RavenR #rstats package has over 5,000 downloads from CRAN now. Hopefully that means that some people have found it useful! https://t.co/8KEtNdp87l @RavenHydro @James_R_Craig @SimonGMLin1 @FortranForPrez

I just recently learned about the dput function in R, which you can use to turn an #Rstats object into code to recreate it. I used it in the #RavenR package to efficiently codify some data frames in a handy way, and wish I had known about this function years ago.

New #RavenR function alert - rvn_met_recordplot, contributed by @SimonGMLin1, which produces plots like this to show the data availability from multiple meteorological stations using weathercan output. Super useful in setting up gauge stns in #models. #rstats #hydrology

The ol' laptop is getting some flash. I'm a bit partial to the top hex sticker :) Thanks @rstudio for sending the others! #rstats #hexstickers #ravenr

Hydrologic modellers: tired of spending hours infilling parameter values to get a model up and running? Try out this new function in development to infill default parameter values from a template rvp file. #rstarts @RavenHydro #RavenR #hydrology #Raven https://t.co/tWaOLIHBAW

Trying to do a *simple* thing like space out labels from geom_label nicely within the #RavenR package. Now spending the whole day adding source code from #ggrepel, recompiling, and rewriting RavenR functions. Not so simple after all. #rstats #hydrology #ggplot2

@RavenHydro @Queen_MAB_hydro @DrLouiseSlater @YoungHydrology @EGU_HS @KFacerChilds @G_Thirel @JulieeeMai @James_R_Craig Thanks @Queen_MAB_hydro and @RavenHydro for the recommendation. It would be fun to put something together on either the #RavenR package or analysis/usage of hydrologic models using R more generally. @DrLouiseSlater I would be happy to connect further on this!

Happy to announce that after a brief interlude, the #RavenR package is back up on CRAN with a few minor updates as v2.1.0. https://t.co/8KEtNdp87l @RavenHydro @James_R_Craig @FortranForPrez @SimonGMLin1 #rstats 1/3

All the cool kids are making R hex-stickers, so we (read Dr. James Craig) made one for the #RavenR package too! I think it turned out great. Will have to get some #hexstickers for #conferences (once we have those again). https://t.co/MzougmQtI3 #rstats #hydrology #softwaredev
