A4: Hi, longtime listener first time caller today. My daughter's teacher uses this to give students options to practice spelling. I want to do something like this for my Globalization unit coming up. Students pick a company, country, or item and then analyze it. #RealityCheckChat
So 1 small thing I've started doing is offering up multiple methods of outlining ideas for essays. Some people are so top-down in writing; some can skip around. Some are pen-paper, and some need online graphic organizer structures. Messy at first but worth it. #REALityCheckChat

A3: “respectful tasks” stands out to me, especially the word “respectful.” If what we’re asking students to do isn’t respectual to who they are as learners and what they can/cannot do, then what are we even doing? #RealityCheckChat
A3: What stands out is just how dynamic this is. It's more than a choice board. Not an extra-tracked classroom. And it's "respectful" -- to student interest, readiness, learning style. Not just adding MORE or LESS of something -- but a qualitative difference. #REALityCheckChat

For me, differentiation is acknowledging that not all students learn the same, and consciously adapting how we roll out information, and how students show what they know to account for said differences. It's NOT more tracking. #REALityCheckChat #trysomething
