In June, most of the FOMC thought core PCE would be 3.9% on a Q4/Q4 basis and projected a terminal policy rate of around 5.6%
Instead, we ended the year at 3.2% core PCE with a 5.3% policy rate.
The Fed's CPI Nowcast tool shows CPI, PCE, and Core PCE dropping into the 2s on a YoY basis when the January 2023 data is released. #RealRates will tick higher as long as inflation๐ปand the Fed remains on hold.
