Huge hoardings of Abhishek Banerjee plastered all around Swami Vivekananda’s ancestral home, hailing him as “Swagatam Yuvaraj”, are not just an eyesore, they are a direct insult to the towering legacy of Swami Vivekananda. Swamiji stood for humility, service, spiritual strength and national awakening. Turning the sacred space associated with him into a backdrop for dynastic self-glorification exposes the Trinamool Congress’s complete moral and cultural bankruptcy. As if this were not enough, another TMC leader Shashi Panja recently embarrassed herself by mocking the slogan “গর্ব করে বলো আমি হিন্দু” (Garv se kaho hum Hindu hain) and claiming it should instead be “গর্ব করে বলো আমি মানুষ” (Garv se kaho hum insaan hain). What she perhaps doesn’t know, or conveniently chooses to ignore, is that “গর্ব করে বলো আমি হিন্দু” is Swami Vivekananda’s own line. The very words she derides come from the very icon TMC pretends to revere on birth anniversaries and poster hoardings. This is the true face of Trinamool Congress: •They appropriate Swami Vivekananda’s legacy for optics •Disrespect his teachings in practice •And mock the civilisational pride of Bengalis A party that insults Swami Vivekananda, distorts his words, and desecrates spaces associated with him is not just anti-Hindu, it is anti-Bengali.
