This year, I was a proud coauthor of SB 411, a bill authorizing neighborhood councils to use alternative teleconferencing methods to establish a quorum remotely.
Last night, I stopped by the Mission Hills Neighborhood Council’s meeting, a group who will benefit from #SB411.

I was pleased to present #SB411 by Senator @Portantino that will allow neighborhood councils in the City of LA to use alternative teleconference technologies when they are unable to meet a quorum.
SB 411 allows neighborhood councils, boards, and commissions in the city of Los Angeles to continue meeting virtually, making meetings more accessible and reducing the need for unnecessary driving. (by @Portantino)

If #SB411 continues through the State legislative process, #NeighborhoodCouncils may also take action as a board to send a letter to their City elected officials, explaining their perspective on this bill and asking their representatives for their support on this matter.
