Sarah Minson shared “Limits of Earthquake Early Warning” in 2017. Challenge: a system sensitive enough to capture most potentially damaging quakes will likely increase number of “false alarm” notifications. Is this acceptable to end users? #scecmeet #scec2021 @USGS_ShakeAlert

@SCEC @SeismoSue Ah 2020! I informally dub this @SCEC meeting "The Year of the Screen Capture". My personal highlight was when Gordon Seitz set his poster as his Zoom background and went full TV weatherman to illustrate the San Andreas fault scarp near Cholame. #scecmeet #scec2021

Little did we know the 2019 @SCEC meeting was the last time we would breathe shared air for awhile. The theme was the songs of Bob Dylan & it was the first meeting after the Ridgecrest earthquake sequence, which @SeismoSue so wonderfully summarized. #scecmeet #scec2021
