Similar patterns appear in the footprints of the #AugustComplex and the #SCUComplex. Prolonged high temperatures and low humidity reduced fuel moisture among all fuel types. (1-, 10-, 100-hour fuels refer to the duration that a fuel would burn, ⬆️ numbers = longer-burning 🌿)

Before and after dry lightning sparked the #CZUComplex and #SCUComplex which combined burned nearly 500,000 acres in the Bay Area before both fires were finally contained. #CaliforniaFires

Not all recent burn scars face same level of risk. Large areas burned at low-mod intensity, where risk will be pretty low. Good examples of lower risk zones include nearly all of #SCUComplex, majority of enormous #AugustComplex, & wide swaths of #CreekFire. (H/T @geodirtdude)
