From May 28th to June 6th, 2023, #KukiTerrorists launched a series of brutal coordinated attacks at #Sugnu, #Serou, #Napat, and #Tangjeng. Over 20 lives were tragically lost, including 3 Security Forces, and more than 4,000 houses were burnt.
Deceased:
1. ANGOM BASANTA: Killed around 1:30 am at Phayeng Khunou Freedom Hills.
2. ATHOKPAM MUHINDRO: A 70-year-old beheaded in Serou village around 2:30 am after the attackers burned houses and forced villagers to flee.
3. SOROKHAIBAM IBETOMBI: An 80-year-old woman from Serou, allegedly burnt alive inside her house around 3:00 am.
4. NINGTHOUJAM GANDHI: Sustained fatal bullet injuries during a retaliation effort in Lanching village, died in the hospital.
5. THOKCHOM KIRAN SINGH: Team Commander of the Thoubal District Commando, died from wounds sustained in a gunbattle.
6. NINGTHOUJAM MOMOCHA: Died from bullet injuries in an attack on Sugnu-Serou Meitei villages around 2:40 pm.
7. NGANGOM NEVY: A 17-year-old student from Sugnu-Serou, went missing on May 28, 2023; his decomposed, beheaded body was found on January 31, 2024, in Sokom Village.
8. THANGJAM LEMBA SINGH: A 29-year-old from Leitanpokpi, died from sniper bullet injuries, succumbed in the hospital the same day.
9. THOKCHOM NAOTOMBA: A local civilian, about 31 years old, shot dead at Wangoo Chadonpokpi around 7 am.
10. KHUMANTHEM KENEDY SINGH: Killed between 7 to 8 am in the area between Wangoo Chadonpokpi and Kamson, declared dead upon arrival at Raj Medicity.
11. AMOM YAIPHABA: A 17-year-old student from Wangoo Chadonpokpi, died from bullet injuries while trying to save houses from being set ablaze.
11. HEIKRUJAM ROBINSANA: 26-year-old Meitei youth from Khongjom, went missing during the violence. The body of Heikrujam Robinsana lay near the 37th AR post since May 28, 2023, with no retrieval efforts by the force. It was finally recovered by a combined security force team on June 2, 2023.
12. MAYENGBAM KERONJIT: Injured in multiple attacks on May 28 around 2:40 PM by heavily armed Kuki militants. Succumbed to injuries at Raj Medicity.
13. KHAGEMBAM ANANDPRASAD: 26-year-old Meitei youth from Wabagai, went missing. His remains were later retrieved from Sugnu.
14. ROMARIO KHOIROM: From Langthabal Mantrikhong Mayai Leikai, was hit by a bullet fired by Kuki militants. Brutally murdered with his teeth removed, multiple stab wounds, body burned with a blow lamp, and large chunks of skin and flesh missing.
15. SHIVA YUMLEMBAM: Killed by Kuki militants on May 29 while defending the village in the Sugnu-Serou areas. Reported missing since May 29, his body was retrieved on June 2, 2023.
16. LAISHRAM BINOD MEITEI: Along with Thokchom Kiran and Heikrujam Robinsana of Khongjom Bazar got killed trying to protect Meetei villages in Serou and Sugnu from Kuki militants.
17. ROMANI KUMAR PAUDEL: 52-year-old Nepali, died of bullet injuries on May 29 in Serou.
18. YENGKHOM PISHAK: 65 year old from Napat, killed on May 28 near Napat Thongkhong. Body retrieved on June 10.
19. THOKCHOM KIRAN SINGH: Team Commander of the Thoubal District Commando, died from wounds sustained in a gunbattle.

7. ๐ต๐ฎ๐จ๐ต๐ฎ๐ถ๐ด ๐ต๐ฌ๐ฝ๐: A 17-year-old student from Sugnu-Serou, went missing on May 28, 2023. His decomposed, beheaded body was found on January 31, 2024, in Sokom Village.
8. ๐ป๐ฏ๐จ๐ต๐ฎ๐ฑ๐จ๐ด ๐ณ๐ฌ๐ด๐ฉ๐จ ๐บ๐ฐ๐ต๐ฎ๐ฏ: A 29-year-old from Leitanpokpi, died from sniper bullet injuries, succumbed in the hospital the same day.
9. ๐ป๐ฏ๐ถ๐ฒ๐ช๐ฏ๐ถ๐ด ๐ต๐จ๐ถ๐ป๐ถ๐ด๐ฉ๐จ: A local civilian, about 31 years old, shot dead at Wangoo Chadonpokpi around 7 am.
10. ๐ฒ๐ฏ๐ผ๐ด๐จ๐ต๐ป๐ฏ๐ฌ๐ด ๐ฒ๐ฌ๐ต๐ฌ๐ซ๐ ๐บ๐ฐ๐ต๐ฎ๐ฏ: Killed between 7 to 8 am in the area between Wangoo Chadonpokpi and Kamson, declared dead upon arrival at Raj Medicity.
11. ๐จ๐ด๐ถ๐ด ๐๐จ๐ฐ๐ท๐ฏ๐จ๐ฉ๐จ: A 17-year-old student from Wangoo Chadonpokpi, died from bullet injuries while trying to save houses from being set ablaze.
These incidents reflect a series of violent attacks that resulted in significant loss of life and trauma among the Meitei community.

From 28th May to 6th June 2023, #KukiMilitants and #KukiTerrorists laid siege to #Sugnu #Serou #Napat & #Tangjeng for nearly 10 days, killing more than 20 peoples & burnt 4000 homes.
Four persons including a Manipur police official were killed in the pre-planned attack launched by Kuki militants and #KukiNarcoTerrorists in the wee hours of 28th May, 2023 in Sugnu-Serou areas.
The deceased were one CDO personnel, Th Kiran ,47, Ningthoujam Momocha, 21, Ningthoujam Gandhi ,40 and Mayengbam Keronjit, 36 who succumbed to his injuries on 29th May.
