Yesterday, RWAMREC introduced the #Shoraneza Project in Huye and Nyanza Districts during a quarterly coordination meeting with district leaders and key stakeholders.
Implemented in partnership with the World Food Programme (WFP), Shoraneza is transforming harmful gender norms that limit women’s access to agricultural finance and market opportunities across 18 intervention districts.
Together, we are strengthening collaboration to advance inclusive, gender-responsive agricultural development — planting positive masculinities and growing gender equality.

Today, 26 November, we wrapped up the three-day Gender Transformative Approach training, which began on 24 November and was officially opened by the RWAMREC Executive Director. The training brought together 100 young farmers from the #Shoraneza project, delivered in partnership with the World Food Programme. Over three days, participants explored harmful gender norms, strengthened their understanding of the GTA, and built skills that promote equality, shared decision-making, and women’s financial inclusion. Held at RICEM in Kigali, the training concluded with participants committing to serve as community facilitators, applying the #GTA in their communities to reach more young women farmers and ensure they have access to dignified and fulfilling jobs.
