The #Brexit unfair unequal playing field is ensuring good quality British food is collapsing. The only way to #SaveBritishFood is to join the Single Market and get fairness back for Britain.

#Brexit is ensuring “Low welfare” and “lower quality” food is flooding into the UK from abroad and replacing high quality British food. Official stats show staggering increase of imported eggs 🥚 🔥from Poland 🆙 more than 2,000% since Brexit from 2021-23, from just 46 consignments 🆙 to 1,095. 🔥from Italy 🆙 more than 300% from 72 consignments to 279. British Egg Industry Council describe the stats as disappointing, “particularly at a time when British producers have been struggling due to poor returns”. Polish eggs in particular have been in the spotlight recently over several outbreaks of salmonella linked to its egg sector – a bacteria largely eradicated from the UK egg sector over the past 30 years due to the British Lion scheme’s drive to improve production standards.
