Under these conditions, we are not able to ensure the @LastQuake service on Twitter anymore. Some tweets may not be published in time, and the service may stop anytime altogether.

and to give you an idea, in February, because of the Turkish earthquakes, our bill would have been of 210k$ for a month! No way we can possibly pay such an amount. Academics were supposed to get a specific plan, but no news about it.

Last night our @LastQuake bot was unable to publish in time some of our automatic tweets. Problem was not on our side. At the end of the week, the 2 Twitter systems (API) we use will be stopped. We did not get a fee exemption to keep operating after this date.. 1/n #SaveLastQuake
Lastquake can detect magnitude 0.7 earthquake beneath Zagreb but
can also deal with thousands of aftershocks after mag 7.8 in Turkey.
Earthquake prone countries really need @LastQuake. No other institution can provide such a service.
