23/24 MACC offers/rejections being sent out this week. Frustrations from families: ❌Their kids did NOT excel in regular classroom so they aren't suitable for MACC ❌Their school-based teams did NOT know to send MACC application after CCAT assessment was done #savemacc

@VSB39 opened MACC intake for grade 4 but has designed it to be SO unattractive: ❌ no bussing ⁉️1 class of gr 4-7 ⁉️Only until gr. 6 ⁉️Forfeit spot in current school ❓no solution for gr 7 when MACC ends It’s an impossible choice for families. #savemacc #vanpoli #bcpoli

The @VSB39 has reopened intake into MACC for grades 4 to 7. Our work to #savemacc is not done, but today we are enjoying the knowledge that the program will be there next year for a bunch of kids who really need it.

My child and I were kicked out of a @VSB39 Zoom session on the proposed replacement for its Special Ed. MACC Program. We'd posted respectful questions. These had been intended as in-person meetings (but COVID), so it was the equivalent of dragging us out by the elbows. #saveMACC

From a teacher to @vsb39: "Classroom teachers are already way over-worked and under-supported. To expect them to suddenly be able to manage educating all kids, and deal with the disruption of a 6 week program, is crazy. 1/ #saveMACC
