Why this is a legitimate grievance for journalists like you:
The XChat replacement is structurally inferior to what the Journalism community was doing. Of the communities that actually succeeded in their original purpose, X's product team essentially dismissed the whole feature as a "Temu version of subreddits," which is dismissive of the real journalism, networking, and editorial discourse happening in spaces like yours.
