This is the bottom array, composed of 241 photomultiplier tubes (PMTs), the bottom eyes of our detector. These sensors measure the tiny light produced by particles traversing the liquid xenon target. First step was to rotate the array into its final orientation. 1/2

To make sure the detector is as clean as possible, we work in a special environment, called clean room (CR). We use masks😷, suits🤵‍♂️, and gloves🧤to not contaminate the detector. 2/2 #clean #SayNoToRadon #lowbackground #MondayMotivation

Why not sealing it with standard metal welding? ➡️ The piston will be in contact with our ultra-pure xenon. Standard welding rods would introduce radon, leading to an increase of our main background. #saynotoradon /2
