Everytime a law is revised or abolished for being “unjust,” all people sentenced under said law prior its revisions should automatically be up for resentencing. This is not common practice. Why?

💯This law was revised in 2017 for being “unjust” & because it allowed prosecution to give murder charges to people who never hurt anyone or took a life, WITHOUT NEEDING PROOF OF MALICIOUS INTENT! Yet all of these innocent people, including #ScottHanright remain incarcerated.

Facing #LWOP under this since abolished law, Scott was “encouraged” to take a plea, meaning he never had a trial & had to admit to things he didn’t do. It’s clear he had no role in the killing. A trial would prove, with evidence, that #ScottHanright had no role in the robbery.
The @MACourts used Scott’s case to revise this unjust law, stating proof of malicious intent is now required for murder charges in a joint venture. The changes weren’t made retroactive for those already sentenced to life for murders they didn’t commit, including #ScottHanright
