It's done! I just submitted #SecondWriter, my project for the @boltdotnew hackathon. Everything is now out of my hands, let's hope it does well in the judging phase! I've worked ~80 hours this past week on this project and one for a job interview. I'm super proud of what I've done, and now it's time to let my body and mind rest and recover. I'm excited to be going on a family cruise for the next 2 weeks, from Rome to Barcelona. Thank you, everyone, for your support!

It's done! I just submitted #SecondWriter, my project for the @boltdotnew hackathon. Everything is now out of my hands, let's hope it does well in the judging phase! I've worked ~80 hours this past week on this project and one for a job interview. I'm super proud of what I've done, and now it's time to let my body and mind rest and recover. I'm excited to be going on a family cruise for the next 2 weeks, from Rome to Barcelona. Thank you, everyone, for your support!

Tristan, you can stop worrying about all the things you want tweaked, optimized, and improved in #SecondWriter. Those changes are not going to make a difference in how well your project does in the @boltdotnew hackathon. What will make a difference is whether you make a compelling video or not. Focus on making that video!

#SecondWriter lets you specify rules related to your writing style. This example shows some great progress towards that goal, but perhaps the AI doesn't like being forced to talk in the way I requested! (@boltdotnew hackathon)

Prompt engineering is VERY important when building an AI-powered novel-writing studio like #SecondWriter. My initial story idea generator made boring and typical stories. So I asked it to avoid common tropes and make unique story ideas. This resulted in overly ridiculous and nonsensical stories, like the one in my image. I'm currently testing a prompt that lets the AI use common tropes, but only when combined with an interesting or unexpected twist. This careful balance of not too hot, not too cold, feels like I'm role-playing Goldilocks with the AI. (SecondWriter is my project for the @boltdotnew hackathon)

#SecondWriter is getting so good at generating novel skeletons (characters, locations, items, etc) that I have decided to remove the pre-generated sample novels that each new user received when they onboarded into the app. Now they get to feel the magic immediately! (@boltdotnew hackathon project)

This video includes the best overview of everything I'm working on for #SecondWriter, my project for the @boltdotnew hackathon. I'm super excited and pleased with how well this project is going! I've worked on hundreds of micro-interactions, custom UI elements, multiple AI integrations, core writing features, and much more. Tonight was the first time I got @elevenlabs Conversational AI working. I'm picking the most appropriate voice for each character, and using dynamic variables to set the initial message and system prompt. It wasn't hard to setup, once I realized I had to add the voices to my voice library. I hope you enjoy this video! P.S. I'm sorry there is no voice-over. I thought I was recording my voice, but it didn't come through.

Today, I leveled up my skills by using an AI observability platform for the first time. This is especially important when vibe coding, because I don't always know HOW my app is working internally. My #SecondWriter app generates story beats based on a complex set of context. This includes a summary of the story, characters, locations, items, and many other important aspects of a story. I chose @LangWatchAI because of a recommendation by @TejasKumar_ and the fact they offer a FREE tier to get started learning and testing. I'm using @GoogleAI Gemini for intelligence because it's smart, fast, and cheap. Do you use a tool like this?
