That’s right. #ElderAbuse and #ElderFamilyFinsncialExploitation #EFFE are not family drama. They are CRIMES committed WITHIN families. And that’s the bread and butter for county based probate family courts. States steer family crimes to civil court - but there’s too many reports of foul play; acknowledged at both state and federal level.
The problem is so ingrained - can’t back it out of these courts because they were designed this way. Criminal court can’t handle the volume.
So because laws and enforcement are ineffective the problem continues to grow. What do they propose? Mediation, conflict resolution etc. it’s still not about bringing justice. It’s still about providing services for payment. Money from families to the legal community. Perpetrators walk free and confidence men gain their fees for service.
