❗️The EU is at least twice overestimating its projectile production capacity and breaking promises of supplies to Ukraine - investigation In March 2024, the European Commission stated that the European capacity for the production of 155-mm projectiles amounted to 1 million ammunition per year. Later, European Commissioner Thierry Breton said that by the end of this year the production capacity will reach 1.7 million shells per year and will continue to grow. But it seems that the EU is making wishful thinking in this matter. This was learned by "Schem" journalists who, as part of a consortium of investigative journalists, investigated the ammunition production market. The obtained data indicate that the current total capacity of European production reaches about 500-600 thousand 155-mm shells per year, half of the indicators declared by the European Commission. According to representatives of arms companies, the problem is a worldwide shortage of gunpowder and explosives, as well as a lack of funds to finance the industry. In addition, it is impossible to quickly increase the European production of weapons, which stagnated after the end of the Cold War, military experts are convinced. At the same time, European manufacturers claim that they are gradually increasing investments in their own capacities, despite the lack of government contracts. „shortage of gunpowder and explosives“ We can't check that - but other countries are producing too - South Korea, for example. „impossible to quickly increase the European production“ Unbelievable - you had 28 months. „lack of government contracts“ That will probably be the biggest problem. The bureaucrats in the governments are not issuing orders - at least that's the case in Germany - Olaf Scholz is putting the brakes on here too.

WOW. In new internal docs: Shell admits their net-zero scenario has “nothing to do w/ our business plans" & wishes "bedbugs" upon climate activists; Exxon & Chevron cut commitments to "align advocacy" w/ Paris Agreement; & BP says CCS could “enable full use of fossil fuels". 1/n
