Because at the end of the day, the understanding of it all only matters if we can then apply the tools. Handing a child a hammer doesn’t help much if they aren’t able to swing and hit the nail. Handing an adult a hammer doesn’t help much if they don’t HAVE a nail. Describing the hammer with more accurate details doesn’t help much if they don’t HAVE a hammer. So. Did I love #SHIFT? Absolutely. Do I love the people of SHIFT? More than describable. The brilliant people who made it happen (because they put it together), made it interesting (because they presented), made it exciting (because they came)…they MADE IT. Do I also want to continue to see this shape the future of finance into something that makes it possible to better use the tools of finance? Absolutely. Do I believe we still need to do the work outside of behavior finance to make sure more people have access to the tools? 1000% YES. So far, this is my takeaway and my continued struggle. The conference was awesome. The people who are showing up and saying “this matters and I care” are amazing. True warriors. Let’s continue to do the work 👊🤍
