In Writing, we are retelling the story of 'The Flood' by Alvaro F Villa. Our experience lesson got us thinking about what precious items we would take with us in the event of a flood. 🌧️🤔 #SilasWriting @janeconsidine

We were of course, using our imagination to think outside of the box! See what I did there? 😆 We had a helmet, boat, snail shell and rocket just to name a few!! We then read On Sudden Hill by @iamlindasarah and @Benji_Davies Lovely stuff and great ideas! #silaswriting

Today we started our unit on The Rainbow Fish by Marcus Ffister. We made beautiful fish; and then we added a single beautiful shiny scale from wonderfully caring Rainbow Fish. #silaswriting

In writing we started our new topic ‘The Blue Umbrella’. During our experience day we found synonyms for dark and scary to help us with our writing. #silaswriting

Lots of great mark making for this week's focus story. We enjoyed creating our menus for the Gruffalo's tea party. We hope all of the animals enjoyed their picnic! @stsilasschool #SilasWriting

We really enjoyed our experience day focussing on language from Ruby’s Worry. We made faces showing one of her emotions in the story. We then thought about how many different words we could use to describe that emotion. #SilasWriting

We have loved exploring non-fiction texts this week. We loved using a penguin fact file to learn new information. We applied this to lots of different mark making. @stsilasschool #SilasWriting
