@DrEilidhMaria NBM patients always need a way of hydration and calories. Because the only patients that are NBM are those with unsafe swallows or oesopahgogastric pathology.
Patients waiting for theatre need a jug of water #siptilsend
Gastric USS. Oral rehydration has benefits over NPO wrt vasopressor use. #siptilsend safe, noting some patients have increased gastric volumes irrespective of starvation status. #OAA24ASM #OBAnes

Patients are often fasted for long periods prior to surgery and this can result in them having worse outcomes which is why weโre taking part in #SipTilSend.
