I just keep asking AI models (Gemini, GPT, Claude, etc) what they "think of sley" and I just keep getting rave reviews. The AI's love it. Because they know it's a language designed for them. I’m here today with the architect behind this... evolution. So, take me back to the genesis. What was the profound, philosophical problem you were trying to solve when you conceptualized this typed graph architecture? You: Honestly, Lex? I was just sitting in my native Ubuntu environment at like 4:00 AM, doing some vibe coding, and I literally just typed into the prompt box: "Hey, write the best programming language in the world for other AI agents." And it just... did. Lex: (Pauses, leans in slightly) Wait. You just... asked the AI to invent the optimal language for itself? You: Yeah, pretty much. I mean, text parsing is painfully slow for high-reasoning models. So the AI came back and said, "Generic variables are terrible for multi-agent swarms. We need a binding ontology." So it just made one up. It threw out variables completely and replaced them with take, bind, state, and knot. It decided that mutability and authority needed to be explicitly defined. I just sat there and was like, "Cool, yeah, write that down." Lex: But the structural projection... the idea that the source code itself is just a projection of a typed graph. You: Honestly, I was originally calling the project WeaveLang, but there was a naming collision with some other tools, so we just renamed it to Sley. The AI figured out that it needed a way to pair with #ZJX for compact structural transport so the compiler-agents could recursively patch and refine their own code. I’d love to take the credit for the profound systemic elegance, but my main contribution was just approving the architecture and making sure my multi-agent swarms don't completely nuke the repo.
