Thanks @icsneed and @SnassyIcp for helping @MegaSynergy get set up with liquidity locking! We set up an initial position tonight for 30 days which is the maximum that is allowed in their beta version. However @SnassyIcp has told me he will make an exception to extend liquidity locking time for us so we might be able to lock some more up for an even longer time! For MGSN/ICP liquidity providers, if you're interested in locking your positions please reach out to me or the @MegaSynergy team as they can help you and we have some incentives to reward people for helping us to keep MegaSynergizing! #SneedLock 2.0 beta is here! This week marks a huge milestone for the $Sneed DAO as our new SneedLock 2.0 fully on-chain distributed application (dApp) officially moves from alpha to beta. In doing so, we invite you all to help us with beta testing, on this URL: https://t.co/z68Yj3eoub Originally dreamed up by one of our community members, @Hoodbos39522676, the purpose of SneedLock is to allow developers on the #InternetComputer to lock both tokens as well as Liquidity Pool (LP) positions for specific durations of time, a crucial step towards making trading on $ICP a safer and more rewarding experience for everyone. SneedLock 2.0 works as a permissionless wallet where the user can add any ICRC1 tokens and any liquidity pairs they want and then decide to lock them, such that the tokens and LP positions cannot be touched until the lock has expired. This provides an attractive alternative to “blackholing” positions, since “SneedLocking” allows the user to specify a duration instead of saying goodbye to the position (and its fee rewards!) forever. A typical user could be the creator of a new token who wants to provide maximum safety and confidence to traders. After creating an LP position on a DEX (currently @ICPSwap is supported), they would log in to SneedLock 2.0, copy their principal from the top-right corner, and send the LP position to their principal. They would then click the “+” button in the “Liquidity Positions” section to add the canister id for the ICPSwap LP swap canister representing the token pair. The LP position shows up on the SneedLock page as a card, and they can now click the “lock” icon in the top-right corner of that card and decide for how long they want to lock the position. Until the lock expires, the position cannot be sent and the liquidity cannot be withdrawn, making the position protected against “rugging”. They can then click the “link” icon in the card to be taken to a page showing that the position is locked, with a URL that they can share to prove to users that the position is safe. The token creator, in case they have awarded themselves a substantial portion of the minted tokens, may also opt to lock some or all of them for a specific time, to give users confidence that they will not sell their position in that timeframe. Again, they send the amount they wish to lock to their SneedLock principal, add the canister id for their token ledger and see their token balance show up in a card. They click the “lock” icon in the top-right corner of the card to decide an amount to lock as well as a date and time when the lock should expire. Note that they can create multiple locks for a token, so that their tokens can become unlocked according to a staging schedule. They can also click the “link” icon in the card to get a sharable URL for proving to users that the tokens have been locked. During the beta period, there is a 7 day maximum lock time for tokens and liquidity positions. Once we are confident that no showstoppers remain, SneedLock will move out of beta and into full release, and the 7 day lock limitation will be lifted. Once moving to full release, the SneedLock 2.0 application will of course be fully controlled by the Sneed DAO and open sourced. It will also support an open API such that wallet and dApp creators can support SneedLocking directly from their wallets, DEXes and dApps. Eventually there will be a fee associated with creating locks - determined by the Sneed DAO and paid in the Sneed token - but for now it is completely free to use so please go ahead and help us kick the tires, making the application robust and trustworthy.
