It's been more than a week since it last snowed and many bike lanes and pedestrian crossings in downtown Kitchener are not usable.
Whatever the current system is, it's not working.

Whatever our current snow clearing system is, it's not working.
Pedestrians, cyclists, users of mobility devices, families with strollers all deserve better.
It's been more than 72hrs after last snow and these are the conditions of our MUTs and bike lanes.

Now that #Toronto has handed upkeep of the Gardiner Expressway & DVP over to the #Ontario govt, snow removal will no longer be an issue π

I appreciate that seniors and those who use mobility devices were the priority of discussions. Children walking to school were also a big priority. We should also include College/University students as priority as well residents in low income neighborhoods #SnowmobilityWR
This was a discussion ONLY. Official recommendations will be presented for Council vote end of June. Delegations will be welcomed to speak. There's a clear shift in attitude about how important accessible sidewalks are. There's work to do but this shift is key! #SnowmobilityWR
And who will shovel all the sidewalks of the aging boomers who rightfully want to age at home? It's something to think about when planning for #SnowmobilityWR
