This is a story countrywide. The solar company that applies for the permit is, usually, not the one that ends up installing the complex. The permit is sold multiple times. The company that does install the complex is either dissolved, files bankruptcy, or disappears. Why? It costs millions of dollars to decommission these complexes. They’re not interested in doing that or dealing with the hazardous waste. Once they received their “green energy” subsidies and credits, the deal was done. They’re gone and the land is destroyed. The ultimate decommissioning bill falls on the local municipality… which means it falls on the taxpayers of our country.
