A good thread on the #SolarSingularity and what might limit it. TLDR: cannibalization of value from excess capacity, or generic "can't have infinite growth". First ignores the co-evolution of demand (heating, cooling, transport) around daily supply peaks. Second is a face-palm.
Limits to growth: solar edition. Solar is booming but nothing can grow exponentially forever. What could potentially limit its growth? When?

@ACNicolet @thatwallstguy @azeem In spirit of #solarsingularity, pretty much all roofs will be solar by 2050, beating retail power prices. Even today, all new-build should integrate solar. It may not meet a building's power needs, but that changes as appliances become more efficient. Oh, and merry Christmas 🎄!
