City Hall isn’t a corporation, but it’s sure been acting like one. The org chart is upside down. The most important people are the ones picking up garbage, fixing roads, and helping Calgarians every day; and they’re buried under layers of red tape. I’ve spoken to Calgarians who’ve lived in their homes for over 40 years, now in tears because they can’t afford to stay because of property taxes. Downsizing isn’t even an option because the market value they'd receive isn't what their assessment says. I’ve fought for savings and efficiencies at City Hall.
