#Goodevening #Friends, #photographers, and #photographylovers. Today, I'd like to do something different: Instead of the focus being through your lens, I'd love to have the focus be on you! Let's have a #SoulSearchingSaturday, and would you please share what it is that drove you to pursue photography? 🙏😊📷 I'll♥️&🔄All! In 2016, my mother, whom I cared for, passed away during corrective surgery following a 15-year battle with #PulmonaryHypertention. Growing up, I was taught she could be gone any moment, and it put a great deal of stress on me. She went in and out of hospitals uncountable times a year, and it got to where I had no life outside of home because I was so fearful of losing time with her. She dreamed of traveling the world. She wanted to walk when she lost the ability to, she wanted to work 2 jobs when she couldn't work any... I held her as her heart stopped, and it broke me to pieces. I was diagnosed that year with #PTSD and #BorderlinePersonalityDisorder. 5 years passed, and I was in a state of despair that seemed to be in control of my life, which began affecting those around me that I love. I was blessed with my father looking after me, woke up one day, and told myself that I needed to see things differently and set off in my car. At first, I just knew I wanted to go see the things my mother told me she wanted to see, the mountains, the desert, the grand canyon. The palm trees under the southern California sun with the ocean breeze on her face... she couldn't see them.. she couldn't leave home and her oxygen.. but I could. So I did this, and I made as many memories as I could and while doing it discovered that no matter how much toil or pain my body was going through, the strength that she gives me with every step is all I need. Now, I look to the future and take every step and breathe with confidence and courage, and appreciation, knowing I have found my place in this world.
