@madversity @ndtv The #SouthernView is a great regional balance if there is a #NorthernView, #EasternView & #WesternView as well. I take it that the South is a lot more richer, employed & literate compared to the rest, which is why less (problems) is discussed about the South.
Born-again @ndtv aims to return English news coverage to the rational middle ground that the country deserves. I wish it the best. Personally I enjoyed joining its coverage during the recent assembly elections.

This evening and tomorrow, I will be attending various programmes in Tamil Nadu. I will reach Thoothukudi in a short while, where a series of vital infrastructure projects will be dedicated to the nation. This includes the new terminal building of the Thoothukudi airport, which will be a game changer for commerce and connectivity in the southern part of Tamil Nadu in particular. Other projects being inaugurated include 4-laning of the 50 km SethiyathopeโCholapuram stretch of NH-36 and 6-laning of the 5.16 km NH-138 Tuticorin Port Road.

1. Where was the ground handler & airport services who were responsible for this support ?
2. Where were the airport buggies ? Why is it such a long walk at any new indian airport ?
3. Has the DGCA put a limit of the number of immobile pax per flight ?
4. If not has the @DGCAIndia ensured that airports have more that 30-50 wheelchairs per long haul flight ?
5. Is anyone aware that US long hauls come with upto 50 wheel chair passengers each flight ? (Which by law no Airline/ Airport can charge for)
6. Either DGCA ensures that @CSMIA_Official & ground handlers gets 200-300 wheelchairs stocked OR cap the number of requests
7. Give physically challenged & the old the respect they deserve & ensure their safe travel at all times and all costs.
8. No one has even considered what will happen in an emergency if 10-20% of your aircraft pax are immobile & you have to perform an evacuation like in JAL Haneda, itโs a tragedy waiting to happen. (This is an issue we had raised for 6-7 years now)

Not a great fan of @TataCompanies or @airindia, but when 13.5% (32 pax of a flight carrying 238) ask for wheelchairs, delays are bound to happen. How exactly was AI meant to marshal these in 24 hours? And if the gentleman chose to walk, what was AI meant to do? Physically restrain him?
