You look a little into this SC guru Brandon Joe, and you quickly find a lot of white supremist stuff. He apparently thinks only white men are legally qualified to be citizens. Even if you're a #SovCit this is not only a stupid position to take, it's counterproductive if you're not trying to deliberately sabotage your own movement.
He seems to be promoting a lot of other weird, opportunistic, stuff too, Tate manosphere type of sht:

If you research online these groups within the #SovCit spectrum, there's definately widespresd crossover with weird cottage industries not directly related to their stated focus like home remedy folk-medicine, preper merch, wood-burning stoves, unrelated paranormal topics. I see some groups online get at least half their income selling snake-oil cures. This probably traces all the way back to the 19th century when traveling snale-oil salesmen would cover rural America for easy marks (the present crop's ancestors).
Politics has become just another miracle cure grift for hustlers to peddle, although you can't paint with a broad brush: certainly many of these groups and members sincerely believe in what their pushing. Still, I wonder how many would stick around if the retail side of #SovCits et al was removed.

Bad optics for the criminal justice system but a PR win for the #SovereignCitizen movement, officials confirming the #SovCit picture of government as abusive of its authority by bullying regular Joe America.
Sounds like trumped-up charges by prosecutors to harass #SovereignCitizens. I'm no #SovCit, but I believe it's people's right to publish and sell these documents, after all, such principles and forms may not be accepted as law now, but at least some of them may some day become so, but not if thuggish government silences it before it has a chance to go through the legislative process. Definately problems here related to freedom of speech, freedom of association, the right to participate in government as a private citizen free from persecution, etc.
Sounds like state persecution of dissident political ideas to me, perhaps even retaliation by actors holding personal grudges against #SovCits. And throwing in the "civil forfeiture" thing - a hot potato with #SovereignCitizens - appears to be a nasty & deliberate slap in the face.
US citizens should have a right to develop and communicate their political ideas no matter how radical - which would include selling relavent literature - unless it is calling for specific acts of violence/terrorism.
#SovCits don't appear to be all that radical or dangerous - precluding individual unhinged bad actors (the movement/philosophy shouldn't be outlawed because acts by a few criminal personalities) - not like extreme marxist groups or supremist groups who actively advocate the violent overthrow of gov, capitalism. #SovCits are literally publishing documents and spreading strategies to engage in discourse with the criminal justice system, not overthrow it.
My opinion is the government views #SovereignCitizens as a greater threat than violent revolutionary groups, precisely because #SovCits wish to peacefully participate in diologue with the process. And to hold a novel and, for most, a counterintuitive political philosophy like #SovCit in democratic deliberation with the established system, challenging this system on basic principles, will definately be percieved as a personal threat to officials' positions and authority. It's easy, but unwise, to just silence dissidents by force, because such strongarm tactics historically produces the opposite result.
The failure is on the side of gov here by misusing the justice system as a weapon of COERCION instead of DEMOCRATIC DELIBERATION where officials - given they are competent enough - can defeat #SovCit ideas on their merits, and do so publically for the world to see.

#SovereignCitizen movement is seductive, especially to the many Americans financially & ethnically alienated from mainstream society.
No doubt there's a lot of garbage, probably more than 70% of #SovCit movement isn't worth taking seriously. But that other 30% I gotta think about. About 10% I don't even have to think more about.
Freedon of religion for example. I absolutely believe religious freedom means the Gov has nothing whatsoever to say about religion. Not only should the state not prohibit the free practice, it should not be allowed to license or regulate religion. This boils down to a theological issue about the station of God. Anyone's God, if s/he is indeed considered God, cannot be licensed by any other power without violating the religious belief in the most fundamental way.
Reproductive rights, as well, should be a freedom totally outside the scope of Gov jurisdiction. A woman should not be required to get the state's permission to have right to her body. The possession of one's self seems a right so fundamental it too should be outside the scope of the state.
I would add to this firearms ownership, speech (including protest), travel and assembly to be freedoms beyond the state's jurisdiction. By "freedom" I mean self-authorizing, not Gov-permitting.
And I would have to think more about drivers licenses, the license to practice law, and whether things like auto insurance and home owners' insurance should be coerced by Gov laws.
If someone wants to practice law, why should any professional organization and gov agency have a monopoly on this as gatekeeper? This would make sense with medicine, chemical engineering and related disciplines, because these are highly specialized knowledge fields with life-threatening consequences. But law appeals to common reason to justify its decisions.
Any human with basic functionality, if they apply themselves to a particular judgment and its case history, should be able to understand the the legal issues at hand. Legal reasoning is not meant to be, nor should it become, exclusionary reasoning exclusive to an elite few, although because of opportunism and a sense of proprietary interest no doubt some insiders would want to make it so. This would be contrary to the very form of government we hold. If someone wants to practice law who's to tell them, "no, you can't." Of course this doesn't mean they have a right to clients. This depends on their ability and would settle itself.
With all the above rights, being outside the scope of the state's jurisdiction doesn't mean the Gov shouldn't still be obligated to defend and protect these rights from private parties that would violate them. The Gov is required to defend/protect all our liberties although not every one of these liberties should be required to seek the state's approval and regulation to enjoy them.
@DrSarteschi Expect #SovereignCitizens to issue a parallel everything:
-1) #SovCit currency (already promoting bitcoin).
-2) #SovCit homeschools.
-3) #SivCit breakaway republics.
etc. etc. etc.
I think we have plenty of real-time observable footage of judges struggling to respond to #SovCit arguments, becoming frustrated at their own limitations, then reflexively punishing these #SovCit with contempt obviously out of their own lack of knowledge or ability. Just binge any season of COURT CAM for a lot of examples.
The #SovereignCitizen and the Government are fighting for custody of the family. Who's going to mediate this conflict, since both believe they are the ultimate authorty?
The #SovCit wants to be the government for his wife and children, yet he repudiates the validity of the concept of government that would be binding upon him.
Seems like the wife of a #SovCit could take the same #SovCit line of argument to dethrone the government of her husband.
@DisrespectedThe The officer never should've played along... His response should've been what @PCSOFrank says, "I'm not here to hold court at the side of the road" to which he should add, you can have your questions answered in front of the traffic court judge. #SovCit #Ridiculousness
๐#HappyNewYear2026! Here's a compilation of #SovereignCitizens, incl Air Force Lt. Colonel Michelle Bongiovi, in the Window Break Hall of Fame. #SovCit: "I do not consent!" Reply: SMASH! Sponsored by @safelite? Baffling they never learn, but fun to watch. https://t.co/1XjtWMYxD3
Fridays with Frank just dropped a #sovcit ๐น that I've seen before, but I watched it again because it's Frank!!!
rare aesthetic: a broken clock is right 65% of the year
the GOVERNMENT CANNOT tell me WHEN to change my CLOCKS; i will do so as i PLEASE #laissezfaire
IN FACT, i will be rolling back my clocks on 8 march 2026

So if I kill someone & I refuse to accept โconsentโ Iโm able to sue the CC. WTF? I struggle to understand how some, possibly intelligent people, believe some things but what is clear,
BS like this often creates dangerous situations for police everywhere. #carolwright #Sovcit

Who's more batshit crazy, this deluded charlatan or her followers? #sovcit
Didulo has added a new title to her already long list of titles

Oh no, I think I found a sovcit in the wild.
#sovcit
@evanstravers @benedtl Fine. Iโll do the work. Enactments of legislature does not apply to People. All because of due process of law.

@peters_malcolm I think there was only one person that wasnt treated serious enough in Australia to take such a title, a man from Hut Province, which comes with its own weight it must bear, creating passports and currency, it holds way to much work for such persons that make such claims #sovcit
@peters_malcolm This is the irony of many
To be a Sovereign Citizen or a Freeman, one must relinquish what many depend on that make claim to such titles which demonstrates the illiteracy of their legalese
#sovcit
"People know the whereabouts of the person whoโs allegedly killed two cops"
You're harbouring a murderer. This is beyond ideology, he killed 2 ppl and ran out on his family. Turn him in!

Sympathetic reporting on what mate thinks of #sovcit terrorist doesn't cut it @GuardianAus.
MSM indulging these creeps to break laws during covid lockdown in Vic emboldened them.
No excuses for murder of public servants. #auspol

@JacktheInsider The whole #sovcit movement, with their weird public notices & weekly protests with upside down ensigns, is laughable, until you see the endpoint of their beliefs. Their radicalised adherents are a huge risk of perpetrating acts of domestic terrorism.
