Standard Bank Predicts ANC Win Standard Bank predicts that the ruling African National Congress (ANC) will secure enough votes in the upcoming election to avoid the need for a coalition government. The bank acknowledges concerns of growing crime, corruption, and inefficiencies in key sectors but believes the ANC will maintain public support. However, Standard Bank warns investors of a "tumultuous" period leading up to the election, with political uncertainty potentially keeping them cautious. The bank suggests that foreign investors may focus on defensive sectors in the near term but expects renewed interest in interest rate-sensitive sectors, such as general retailers and industrials, in the second half of the year. #AskAsanteOnBoards
