Art is a powerful tool for learning โ it reaches places where words often cannot. The films we watched as part of the Youth Academy #StateOfPeace opened up important topics, questions, and emotions. ๐ฅ
We watched the documentaries Uspomene 677, Kapija โ95, Ordinary Heroes, and Colorless โ each with its own story and approach, but all sharing the universal message that empathy, moral courage, and tolerance are the key virtues of healthy democratic societies. ๐๏ธ

We spoke openly about #peace, #reconciliation, the EU path, and how our shared EU future can bring stability, prosperity, and opportunities for the Western Balkans.
The honesty, curiosity, and courage of these participants to ask difficult questions and share their vision for the future are truly impressive.

๐Sarajevo is both culture and remembrance.
Participants of the #StateOfPeace Youth Academy visited @WCMsarajevo โ a space that, through personal belongings and memories, tells the stories of children who grew up during war, not only in Bosnia and Herzegovina but across the world.
After that, they visited the Memorial of the Murdered Children of Besieged Sarajevo 1992โ1995. Emir ๐ท๐ธ, Aleksa ๐ท๐ธ, Silvia ๐ญ๐ท, and Amina ๐ง๐ฆ laid flowers at the memorial, and together we honored the youngest victims of the Siege of Sarajevo with a moment of silence. ๐๏ธ

Rector of @collegeofeurope and former ๐ช๐บ HR/VP @FedericaMog met today with ๐ง๐ฆ youth activists, students and artists in Europe House in Sarajevo.
They covered a range of topics, incl education, mobility, activism, culture, & different EU opportunities on offer for young people.
๐ Participants of the #StateOfPeace Academy had the opportunity to visit Travnik, exploring notable cultural and religious sites such as the Hadลพi Ali-beg Mosque, the Colored Mosque, the Church of St. Aloysius Gonzaga, and the Orthodox Church of the Assumption of the Holy Mother of God. This visit further enriched their understanding of the richness and diversity of our region.

This year's #StateOfPeace Academy had the honor of hosting our long-time partners @GkmVitez on the stage of Ethno Village ฤardaci.
The young actors performed the play I Am Not Here, which explores and questions the relationship between the individual and the mass.
We thank the City Youth Theater Vitez for their powerful and emotional performance, which added further depth to this year's Academy program.

The second Youth Academy #StateofPeace has successfully concluded! Organized by the @eubih in cooperation with the Post-Conflict Research Center, the academy brought together 50 young people from Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, Serbia, and Montenegro.
The academy was opened by Asja Kratoviฤ from #EUBiH and Velma ล ariฤ from #PCRCBiH. The first day of the academy featured a performance of the play "I am not here" by Youth Theater Vitez.
We began the second day in #Travnik, where participants had the opportunity to learn about the city's history through visits to the Travnik Fortress and various religious sites. With Jasmin Jaลกareviฤ, director of @pronibih Center for youth development, and Branka Vierda, an independent activist from Croatia, the young participants discussed mutual trust and bridge-building, as well as the role of transitional justice in peacebuilding in the region.
On the final day of the Academy, the focus was on peacebuilding with Radoslav Tokiฤ, Tamara Miljiฤ, Selma Ramoviฤ, Tatjana Milovanoviฤ, and Velma ล ariฤ.

Participants had an opportunity to learn about peace-building & forge lasting bonds that can set foundation for overcoming divisions & creating brighter future for the region.
