When setup for the mobile food pantry started at 6 AM at Colonial Park UMC, some families had been waiting in line since midnight.
Memphis ranks at the top of the nation for senior food insecurity and more families are struggling to get by than ever, making the work of the Mid-South Food Bank, Pastor Birgitte French, and these volunteers so critical. I was honored to join them as they fed hundreds of our neighbors. The need across Memphis and our entire state is great, and I'm thankful for leaders like these who step up to fill the gaps.

The ICE raids in Nashville this weekend are an ongoing atrocity.
