What a sham. My husband and I just had our USMLE and COMLEX exams cancelled because apparently the Houston Prometric center is closed for the foreseeable future due to unpaid rent, yet continued to schedule exams. @PrometricGlobal this is unacceptable.@NBMEnow @NBOME #MedTwitter

I have now rescheduled my licensing exam (Step 2 CK) 7x in four different states.
I have sat on hold for cumulative 14 hours of my life.
They could not gurantee I will get to even take exam on 7th rescheduled date.

Bizzare announcement today that the USMLE will offer shorter exams at some locations for Step 1 and Step 2CK. Reason is removal of experimental questions. But the difference in exam length may favor or hurt some students. /1

2) The stated reason for eliminating experimental items (“to make event-based testing at medical schools feasible”) is strange.
MED SCHOOL ADMIN: “Yeah, tell them we’ll administer the test - but ONLY if they give us a 20% discount on items administered!”

I’m just so confused how the NBME can be so bad at their jobs...
Tl:dr: if you take step 1 at a med school it will be 200 questions instead of 280 bc they took out all the experimental questions

Got my USMLE step 1 cancelled AGAIN. But this time, @NBMEnow and @PrometricGlobal did not even bother to send a cancellation email. Instead, my school emailed me saying I was no longer registered to take step. Come to find out, it sure was cancelled. FIX THIS NOW.

If the @NBMEnow renews their USMLE contract with @PrometricGlobal after all of the incompetence and discourtesy they’ve displayed over the past two months, it will show an utter lack of regard for students, and I, for one, will not let them forget it.
