For nearly a decade we've asserted SYV is inextricably linked to CCE, evidenced it over & over, yet #CCE is rarely mentioned in #SYV. CSPRs & thematic reviews crystalise the link but who learns from them?
@Oayouthkenya in collaboration with SUSGRO Tech Hub today hosted a focus group discussion designed to integrate #youthvoices, #experiences, and ideas directly into policy and practice.
This session is integral to shaping #SheriaYaVijana (#SYV), a programme designed to equip young people with the essential knowledge and high-impact skills needed for a successful transition to the green and digital economy, grounded firmly in their lived realities.
Over 60 youth leaders from diverse #climate and #technology organizations convened at @ymca to actively share their stories, experiences, and ideas, debating and shaping solutions that matter. Each insight shared serves as vital fuel, guiding the design of #SYV to ensure every training module, tool, and resource accurately reflects the realities youth encounter and prepares them for the future.
Today's focus was on Mastering the Modern Economy, with concentrated attention on three critical pillars:
📌The Green and Digital Economy Transition: Dedicated to preparing youth to seize emerging opportunities in a world defined by sustainability and innovation.
📌Advocacy: Centered on transforming passion into strategy, ensuring youth voices are heard, and their influence translates into tangible policy and community wins.
📌Business Advocacy: Focused on guiding the private sector toward ethical, climate-conscious practices while simultaneously empowering youth to hold corporations accountable.
The mission is to empower a generation and define the trajectory of #SheriaYaVijana.
These are cohesive blueprints, constructed by youth, for youth, shaping a future that is informed, inclusive, and forward-looking.
