Un 26 de julio de 1963 se lanzó el #Syncom2, el primer #satélitegeosíncrono del mundo. 5 meses antes, se había lanzado el Syncom 1 con el objetivo de ser el primer satélite geosíncrono, pero un fallo electrónico provocó que el satélite dejara de funcionar.

26 luglio 1963: Il #Syncom2, il primo satellite geosincrono al mondo, viene lanciato da #CapeCanaveral. Fu lanciato con un razzo vettore Delta B; la sua orbita era inclinata rispetto al piano equatoriale e quindi geosincrona, ma non geostazionaria.
