Kudos to my colleagues @LDC_tweets for their innovation & novel approach to utilising the #T2Day funding. Really great to be part of a team so driven to make such a difference to the lives of people living with, or at risk of, #type2diabetes & other #longtermconditions

An important resource to not only to support HCPs delivering the #T2Day programme (18-39 year olds) but for any HCP supporting individuals diagnosed with #Type2Diabetes under the age of 40 who may now be outside of the T2Day age group ⬇️

It’s depressing to read the stats on early-onset type 2 diabetes

1) there’s so much to do that can make a diff - take your pick
2) England has the only national programme (£14m) in the world (#T2DAY) targeting adults with early-onset T2D

Achieving treatment targets is low hanging fruit
#T2DAY has launched in England & funds more targeted care including greater access, focused Rx &pregnancy preparedness
Important work showing that 3-4 years' life expectancy lost through each decade of earlier diagnosis of #T2D. Early onset T2D is a huge public health problem. More research is urgently needed into strategies to reduce the premature morbidity and mortality for affected people.
