For successful reconstruction of T cell immunity in the vaccine injured, it might be essential that the bone marrow donor and the vaccine injured recipient, match at least one HLA allele for MHC-I and one allele for MHC-II. The reasons are twofold: Firstly, we know that T cells are 'positively selected' in the thymus (epithelial cells) CD3 (DN) and not derived from the bone marrow, therefore proper 'positive selection' must occur on the host MHC allotypes. Secondly, the Antigen-Presenting Cells necessary for T cell activation in the periphery and B lymphocytes, also derive from donor bone marrow, so in order for a donor-derived APC to activate a donor-derived T cell that's been 'positively selected' on the recipient's MHC, both donor and recipient's HLA allotypes must match. What that means is - you need a twin. Unless you've got 5 siblings because one in four of you should be a match. But it's long shot for us Westerner's to have big families these days, much less be on talking terms with them all. So I think the elephant in the room needs addressing and maybe us adults, can put him on the table, that way if anyone wanting to discuss it, they don't feel they have to self censor. You might end up considering that your only valid treatment option is 'genetic therapy' to reverse engineer this nightmare. Or perhaps there's a monoclonal antibody treatment that'll reactivate your silent pathways.
