However, rains to increase over #Konkan Goa this week, in response to offshore #trough becoming active, assist from positive #IOD and trough from LPA over west MP.
#Ghats of Kolhapur, Satara, Tamhini to see mostly heavy - isolated very heavy spells especially midweek, with a weekly accumulation of 200-300 mm.
#Ratnagiri #Sindhudurg Goa to see good moderate - heavy spells with a weekly accumulation of 150-200 mm.
Palghar, #Mumbai MMR and Raigad too will see increase in frequency of showers, especially Tuesday and Wednesday, with some even coalescencing into longer spells. Mostly mod-heavy in nature with a weekly accumulation of 50-80 mm, isolated spots perhaps touching 100 mm. #MumbaiRains

With the onset surge having weakened temporarily due to slice of drier air, rainfall to reduce significantly over #Konkan until Saturday to light-mod scattered showers only with partly cloudy skies.
North konkan including #MMR to see lesser activity than south.
From late night Saturday /Sunday onwards, the surge will come back strong, resulting in good increase in rainfall for Konkan Goa.
Scattered mod-heavy thunderstorms will continue over Madhya Maha, #Marathwada and #Vidarbha thru the entire forecast period. Accumulated rainfall estimated 80-180 mm.
#Pune likely to see isolated showers/thunderstorms only.
Farmers can start sowing their #Kharif crops now, ahead of an intense spell of rainfall arriving in fag end of Jun and first week of July. Flooding spells are possible during that period, so best to sow quick to avoid seeds being washed away.
Sowing now shud allow enough time for crops to germinate and establish before the heavy downpours arrive. Daily thunderstorm rainfall while highly variable shud keep soil moist enough.
Considering the overall Below normal season and erratic nature of Monsoon 2026, farmers are advised to pick drought tolerant /low water demanding crops such Jowar, Bajra, Ragi, Moong, Groundnut, Soybean to reduce the risk of crop failure.

The offshore #trough will be activating for the first time along #KonkanGoa tomorrow.
As a result, #Monsoon to ramp up after a long wait, with some good moderate to heavy spells along the coast with isolated very heavy rains too 🌧️ Check below post for rainfall accumulation.
#MumbaiRains will pick up during early morning to forenoon hrs tomorrow (23rd Jun) heralding Mumbai's Onset and giving first typical Monsoonal downpours. Some good heavy spells will be seen too, with rainbands penetrating interior MMR + catchments by noon. Nothing disruptive but usual minor travel delays can be expected. Estimated 24 hr total 50-100mm isolated 100+

With the #Monsoon having advanced into south #Konkan and south Madhya Maha, mod heavy spells of thunderstorms and rainfall to continue over the region. Monsoon to advance further into Madhya Maha, south Marathwada this week.
However, rainfall is expected to be localised and not suitable for sowing #Kharif yet, so farmers advised to not rush into sowing right now.
Wind convergence and plenty of moisture will result in districts of #Ahilyanagar #Beed #Solapur #Dharashiv #Latur #Sambhajinagar #Jalna seeing few intense thunderstorms similar to the last night again in next 24hrs. Isolated 100-200 mm in a few hrs cannot be ruled out, so take precaution and harvest and fruits and tender veggies that are in field ⚠️
