It’s so much more than that.” ~Kiera Cass Gideon (unknown QH)… Oh boy, two years ago you made it through our gates to safety with an older TB broodmare, a compassion pull from a kill pen by our friends at @RACEFund. You were absolutely emaciated and a little sick, but your remarkably sparkly and happy personality never wavered. You were easy and happy all the time and everyone loved you right away. You suffered a horrific injury to your leg last year (we still don’t know how it happened) yet you remained patient through dozens of bandage changes and came out on the other side nearly perfect with no permanent damage and a very small scar… I have always said you’re the type of soul who deserved his own person. You were always super easy to care for, easy to catch and happy to hang out in the barn with the humans. And today, after one failed adoption last year that wasn’t your fault, you got your forever person. I will miss your happy and sweet demeanor, Gids. I will miss how easy you made it to take care of you. I will just miss you. But now you have the life you deserve and I could not be more happy for you. Thank you Sue for giving this wonderful boy a wonderful home. And thank you to everybody who got him safe and helped me take care of him for the last two years. "A baby fills a place in your heart that you never knew was empty." ~Anonymous  Tyler (’26 by Laurie’s Rocket)… (sound up!) Oh goodness, my heart. I have had a really crappy few days, but this baby has been my bright light. He is sassy, silly and thankfully so happy and healthy. Every morning since he moved into the bigger pasture he waits for me at the gate for scratches. And he follows me around as I busy with morning chores, dumping and filling water troughs and feeding hay. He’s made friends with the goats and the LGDs, too. I am making plans for him and Amy (JC: Perfect Art) and Beryl (JC: Vintage Beauty) for the Fourth of July. While everyone who lives here has been through fireworks, we know baby Tyler has not and we don’t know about Amy and Beryl. So they’ll be in the barn with fans for a couple of nights just to be safe. We made progress today on our July hay fundraiser and we received $470 toward our goal (thank you Linda, Jane and Rose!) which leaves us with $5,102 to get to goal. Will you help us get there?
