The meaning of shelter is associated with protection from the environment, a shield from danger, and a covering that offers safety. Does this look like “shelter” to you? For 5 people? After countless displacements, losing all possessions while fleeing or during the destruction of their homes, families rely on these makeshift tents to live in with their loved ones. They are simple posts and sheets. No flooring, no protection from the dirt or rain or cold. Help us provide shelter for families. Each large waterproof tent costs nearly $1000 after commission. Our team on the ground surveys the areas and encampments that need the most assistance and replaces tents based on urgency and conditions. Our winners from today’s #TentChallenge got there in the end although they said the instructions for the @DecathlonUK tent were more complicated than @IKEAUK instructions. They even managed to dismantle the tent afterwards and put it back in the bag! #Teamwork #CampingChallenge
