The soccer league director who was interviewed saying grass is inferior to artificial turf was standing on a field that had failed GMAX testing in 2022 (multiple points at or above 200) and was only tested because a parent asked. It hadn’t been tested since 2014.

Plastic fields are wickedly expensive.
Necessary replacement cycle for the plastic is relatively frequent.
When owners #TestTurf, many found failing even before 8yr warranty expires.
One HS AD cited costs for switching to artificial and that their own artificial field cost $2 mil to install BUT would save $15k/yr compared to maintaining grass. Left unsaid, it will cost 133 years to recoup that $2 million...on a field that will probably only last 10-12 years.
