Thank you, Adam, for telling this history about how racial inequality came to pervade higher education and for charting an antiracist way forward. This is such an enlightening book.
The perfect explanation from reporter, Fellow, and author @AdamHSays on why he called his #HigherEd inequity book #TheStateMustProvide:
"The Supreme Court said the state must provide an equal education for Black students as it does for any other student."
So what needs to happen?
"Until there is an effort that is as strong as the momentum for segregation was, I fear that we won’t have genuine equity and equality in the #HigherEd system."

A Supreme Court ruling said #TheStateMustProvide a separate #highered option for Black students in the state, but some states weren’t even creating that separate option.
