As a civil rights attorney, I rep clients who are victims of law enforcement misconduct. The subject LEOs broke the law and my clients require assistance in enforcing their rights. That does not mean we should defund or disband law enforcement. That would result in chaos and mob rule. What it does mean is we compel LEOs to obey the law like everyone else. What our ignorant friend Vivek is suggesting is that we completely disband the premier law enforcement apparatus in this country because his pals are facing justice under the law. For arch-criminals , that’s bad. For the survival of our Republic, it is fundamentally necessary to uphold the Rule of Law. Without it, we will be slaves to a despotic regime. We cannot lose sight of who we are and how our country has evolved over nearly 2 1/2 centuries. We’ve come a long way from the 3/5ths compromise, Dred Scott, and slavery. We still have a long way to go but we continually improve. Justice doesn’t manifest itself overnight. It’s a long fought battle which continues to morph and change. We need to meet each challenge with the same ferocity as those before us. We never stop fighting for equality, freedom, and peace. We must always stay vigilant in defense of our nation. Keep the faith Patriots, the Republic stands.
