Bringing back #TidepoolTuesday on Pratidin Prani! Special one because getting a photo of this animal (and it IS an animal!) is not easy. It’s common on Mumbai shores, but shies at the slightest disturbance in the water. Landlocked friends, can you guess what it is? #IndiAves

It only takes Hermit Crabs a pinch of time to move from one home to the next. As they grow, they need to find a more spacious shell to move into. Their abdomens are thin, soft, and twisted to fit the spiral cavity of the shells they prefer to inhabit. #SMCParks #TidepoolTuesday

Velella velella! Also called By-the-wind Sailor, their body has a "sail" attached to it, which allows wind to propel them across the surface of the sea. In spring, they blow ashore, which is when you are likely to see them at Fitzgerald Marine Reserve. #SMCParks #TidepoolTuesday

You won't see Nemo emerging from the Giant Green Anemone. An adult will rarely move from the spot where it attaches early in life. It paralyzes its prey using stinging cells on its tentacles before pulling its meal into the oral cavity. #SMCParks #TidepoolTuesday

This starfish is eating with its mouth open ⭐ Sea stars eat by extruding their stomachs and forcing them into the shell of their prey. Sometimes, if the tide goes out during a feeding, its stomach will fall right out, as shown here! #TidepoolTuesday
